…a musician
in the community
Whether
producing and performing in benefit concerts for the Howland
Center in Beacon, the Dutchess Interfaith Council’s
CROP WALK, playing comforting hymns or singing an Ave
Maria for a funeral service, interaction with the community
is a vital role for a musician on an every-day basis.
…a
teacher / choir director
As a graduate of the Mannes College of Music,
an esteemed conservatory in New York City, I had the good fortune
to have rigorous training in theory
and techniques of music. Music History, Harmony, Counterpoint, Ear
Training, Score Reading, and Analysis (Schenkerian), prepared
students to be solid professionals
as instrumentalists and conductors.
This
background continues to inform my
performing and teaching
to this day – dare I say? — decades
later. |
